Along treacherous mountain roads
Rocks hurling themselves down the steepness
Through the dark mists that rise from the pit of hell
Rides my soul in a land where sun never shines
A frenzied driver whips and lashes as the horses heave and pull
Deeper and deeper into the darkness of your heart
All things good, true and pure
Raped and ruined by you and those doing your bidding
Beware! I come with vengeance in my breast
Beating as robustly as any heart ever beat for true love
So mine beats for justice
I will cut you asunder and feel no remorse
You are a wicked and evil force that the world will be all the better rid of.
The knife you so delectably assaulted and twisted,
With the deceit that lies within you as you lied to me with your eyes,
Will I pull forth to be my weapon
No amount of Christ’s blood or grace will be wasted on you!
And knowing I cannot murder --- even in my heart---
Will I pull you into hell with me,
tormenting one another throughout eternity.

The lucky silver chain
Draping, sliding around your neck
Laying in silent rest against your skin
How I envy that metalic string
Close to you every hour of every day
When we lie heart to heart, skin to skin
I feel so much love that for those moments
It's like everything is perfect ~ there is no fear
There's just you, your loving eyes and strong arms
I feel so safe and cared for, nothing between us.
I've never known such pure joy
Lying close to you feeling your warmth
Tasting your sweet mouth
Breathing you in - breathing peace in.
He heard my prayers, for so long...so long.
And then in one night you came, His answer.
And like all He does - you are perfect for me.
The way you love me, a testament to His generosity.
I know you can't understand this need I have
To feel you, touch you
I can't really explain, except to say
I'm so happy to be yours, that you want to be with me
I'm expressing gratitude, love, happiness and I want you to know.

If I could take away all your pain, I would
If I could erase all the wounds, I would
If I could fill all the empty spaces, I would
If I could make up for the mistakes I made, I would
If I could love you enough to make all this go away, I would
If I could make you feel secure, safe and loved, I would
If I could replace the edgy pain of your heart with peace, I would
If I could take the little boy by the hand back to innocence, I would
If I could pay for everything you need, I would
If I could make you happy, I would
If I could make you understand how much I have,
and do, love you, I would
If I could plant hope and forgiveness in your heart, I would
But I can't, and it breaks my heart in two,
tears fall like rain in the night over you
I can't, but maybe someday,
you'll hear His whisper to your heart.....I can.

As quiet as chrysalis magic
The Winter melts into Spring
The earth folds its white blanket
To reveal cascades of color and texture
You feel it in the air - a certain something
Summer arrives boisterously
Barefoot kids with mouths watering for ice cream
Holding quarters in sweaty hands
Their feet on hot asphalt as they run to catch the ice cream truck
Droplets from sprinklers glisten in the bright sunlight
The clarity of the mocking bird's song in the cool sunrise of morning
Distinct clusters of lights at night
To allow the viewing of Little and Big Leaguers alike
The taste of iced tea on a record-breaking day
And then, one night there's goose bumps
Somehow there's a meloncholy feeling when parting with friends
A feeling that something wonderful was ending
Back-to-school ads beckon parents to buy
Days become a peculiar blend of hot sun and crisp breezes
Suddenly it's dark long before you're ready to go in
The world begins to transform from brilliance to blaze
A collage of nature's ruddy hues
Dripping reluctantly from the trees
Spreading a crackling carpet
For children to rake into piles and leap into
One of life's great moments
Pumpkins, maize, ghosts and goblins
Leafy whirlwinds spinning and gusting
The way the steam from hot cider
warms your nose just before you take a sip
Soon skeletal trees stand, keeping an icy vigil
The flicker of the blue gas flame in the hall heater
You gingerly step inside the bathroom door to flip the switch
And the wall heater's coils slowly glow
to that wonderful red that means warmth
The way the soup steams every window of the house as it simmers
And how good it smells upon entering your bleary-eyed home
Side-stepping the familiar creaks of the hardwood floor at midnight
Because some foretelling force let you know
when you reach the picture window
That from the sky was falling the white shroud
Come morning, no footprints, no second or third day slush
Just virginal flake upon flake, mounds of puffy ice
The global cocoon spins to work it's magic again.
