From Tiphiknee some background info...
I took my first art class at age 13 for a few weeks and didn’t take another until the following year. Going into high school, I knew I needed to take art. I’ve basically lived in the art room 4 years at Hidden Valley High School with my “at-school mom,” Julie Rae Bickle. I began oil painting just 2 years ago on my own, I am self-taught, and I am completely in love with it!
My sophomore year I was able to be bumped up to the junior art class, where I took first in our Annual Spring Art Show at Hidden Valley for my second year running. Last year, I competed against seniors as a junior and took first place the third year in a row! I’ve also been accepted into several shows such as the Best of the Best art show for high school students around Southern Oregon.
This last summer I took a three day oil painting workshop with the world-renowned artist, Jeff Gogue`. He was so impressed with my work, he invited me to a professional tattoo artist oil painting workshop that will be held in Spring 2010!
